The Pleunes, a great book, Da Bears, and God's incredible goodness!

My friend Joe says I need to update my blog, so I'm doing it now. ARE YOU HAPPY JOE?!? :)

My friends Joe, AmyJo, and Esther Pleune are in China, picking up their new Pleune! Maximus! Doesn't that sound like a really solid name? And let me tell you, he looks like a Maximus. That boy's going to be a bruiser! Seeing pictures of Him with his new Mommy, Daddy, and big sister make me want to cry. I know... girly. But I can't help it. I'm so happy for them!

Oh, by the way... Susie says hi... and she can't wait to meet Max.

I'm not in China, and I'm a bit jealous that they are, but we're getting all kinds of fun fluffy snow right now, as most of my readers are probably aware of. Anyway, I really like the snow this year. I never did before, but I'm really appreciating it's beauty this year. I love to sit in my apartment, and look out the front window when the snow is falling gently down through the trees. It's really pretty. I also really like to take walks in it. When you're nice and bundled, it's great to enjoy the snow. If you haven't noticed already, do yourself a favor, and go outside and take note of how peaceful it is when there is this much snow. So quite. I love it.

What else? I got a new book last week called "God Guides". Great book with a bunch of short sections, so it's good to read all at once, or take in small chunks. Anyway, it talks about this missionary in India who would ask God a question, and then just sit and listen to what He would put on her heart. One time He told her to give someone an egg, and she thought it was dumb, so she blew Him off. When she got home, there was a chicken on her kitchen table, and it laid an egg and walked out of her house. She delivered the egg to the woman whom God had said to give it, and she was thanked with tears. The woman had given the last of her food to her children, and had asked God, "please, just give me an egg." WOW!! Anyway, I don't think you can get the book in stores, but I'm thinking about getting a bunch, so let me know if you want one. You won't regret it.

I think that's all for now... except that as I write this, I have this overwhelming sense of God's goodness. I have to say it.... GOD IS SO GOOD, AND I LOVE HIM!!!! That's rather significant, because even after I had become a Christian, I still didn't know how I would love Him. For years, I was saved, but not living a full life in Christ, and I felt just as lost as I did when I wasn't saved. He has granted me that love, and I am so thankful for it. I'm almost moved to tears just thinking about it. What a mighty God we serve. I can't wait to fall down before him and stay there for all of eternity, enjoying His presence free from the temptation and condemnation of Satan. What an incredible day that will be! And, as the song says (this is my favorite verse of any song), "When we've been there 10,000 years. Bright shining as the sun. We've no less days to sing God's praise, than when we'd first begun!" What an incredible truth!

That's eternity... but in the mean time, I'll be praying for a Bears win this weekend. :) I think this is the year, but everyone on the planet seems to disagree. That will surely make it that much more satisfying when Uber-lacher and crew put a hurtin' on the ponies. :-0

Anyway, Joe, I hope this post is to your liking. :) I'm so glad to see you guys with Max, and I can't wait to meet him. I think he and Ella will be good friends. :) Maybe he'll be able to understand what she's saying. :) haha.

I love you guys!

I've been tagged!!

Okay, so Susie alerted me to the fact that I was "tagged" by Dave a while back. I had no idea. I remember seeing that post on his blog, but it looked too long and boring, so I didn't read it. Anyway, I'm supposed to post five things that people don't know about me. This should be fun:

1) Believe it or not, I used to have a pretty bad temper. When I was a kid, I was shooting baskets in the driveway, and I wasn't happy with the number of shots that I was making, so naturally, like anyone would do... I kicked the basketball pole. I'm pretty sure that I broke my toe, but I'll never know for sure because I didn't tell anyone, so I never went to the doctor.

2) One of my favorite basketball players is Lindsay Hunter from the Detroit Pistons, and once when I was in high school, I was at a rest stop going to the bathroom. I know this sounds like it's going down hill fast, but stick with me.... I was standing at the urinal, doing my thing, and who should come in and choose the urinal right next to me, but Lindsay Hunter!! Wow!!!

3) I've been shot.... Point blank.... In the chest.... No kidding.... Okay, fine, it was with a Red Rider BB gun, but it hurt like a monkey's uncle!!

4) I narrowly escaped an early departure from our world when I was almost hit by a car travelling about 50 mph. I was racing my brother home, and didn't stop and look at the corner, and was unpleasantly surprised by the screeching of tires. Thank goodness nothing happened. It would have been a shame to mess up my beautiful, yellow, ten speed bike. That was some bike (sigh).

5) When I was a kid, I used to think that I had super human strength, so I would pin a towel around my neck and make believe it was a cape. Then I would jump off the couch to see if I could fly.... I couldn't. And as it turns out, I don't actually have super human strength either. The rocks that I was crushing with my bare hands were actually just little balls of compacted dirt. But the girl two doors down didn't know that. Score!

Now I have to tag some people.... Amanda and Ceci.... I TAG THEE!!!!

IKEA

We went to Ikea on Saturday, and we were there so long that we never made it downtown. I think after it was all said and done, we were in the store for about six hours. WOW!! It was so much fun though! Susie got a couple of end tables for $13 each, and a couple of lamps too. I got an end table, and a couple of kitchen things. But we probably could have walked out empty handed, and it still would have been a blast!

Quayle-isms

"If you give a person a fish, they'll fish for a day. But if you train a person to fish, they'll fish for a lifetime."
- Dan Quayle, former U.S. Vice President

"It is wonderful to be here in the great state of Chicago"
- Dan Quayle, former U.S. Vice-President

"It's time for the human race to enter the solar system!"
- Dan Quayle, former U.S. Vice President on the concept of a manned mission to Mars

"I love California, I practically grew up in Phoenix."
- Dan Quayle, former U.S. Vice President

A couple more quotes. These are some of my favorites.

"The internet is a great way to get on the net."
- Bob Dole

"I get to go to lots of overseas places, like Canada."
- Britney Spears

Chi-town!!!

Going to Chicago tomorrow!!! WOOHOO!!!

Susie and I are going to go to Ikea and then downtown tomorrow. The Cheesecake Factory beckons! I doubt we'll buy anything at Ikea, other than maybe a knick-knack or two, but it will be a lot of fun to check out anyway. I love Ikea! Then downtown.... Maybe one of my favorite places in the world.

Anyway, we're looking forward to it. It'll be a really nice time to just hang out and enjoy eachother.

Tuesday

You know, I'm not a big Tuesday person. I usually mis-spell it (Teusday), but also, it just seems to be this "no man's land" kind of day. Mondays are Mondays, so you come to grips with that, but then comes Tuesday.... What is there that's good about Tuesday? Just sort of a blah day. Anyway, it's Tuesday now, and I just feel... blah. That is until lunch time, because I get to have lunch with Susie today (WOOHOO!), and that makes this particular Tuesday better than a Friday! Also we're going to Chicago together on Saturday, and I'm SO looking forward to it. What's more romantic than a trip to Ikea and The Cheesecake Factory. It doesn't get any better than that!

Hi girls

Susie and LA! I hope you're having a great night! I wanted to give you a heads up.... The posts go in order from bottom to top, so you should scroll down and start there.

Have a great night, and enjoy your incredibly femenine movie. If I had a TV I'd be watching Rambo tonight.

Instead I think I'll read my newest Danielle Steel novel.

:)

Oh, I just remembered that you wanted to see a picture of me with no hair, so here you go. Enjoy, but try to keep yourself under control.

One more quote

"You can only be young once... but you can be immature forever."

Time for a new post!!

I love to write on my blog. But today I have a mission, to write something that will amuse Susie and L.A. But it's really hard to do this under pressure, so I'm going to have to think about it and post later. For now I'll just give a shout out.

I'M SHOUTING OUT TO YOU.................. NOW!!!! (8:58 AM)
