The Pleunes, a great book, Da Bears, and God's incredible goodness!
My friend Joe says I need to update my blog, so I'm doing it now. ARE YOU HAPPY JOE?!? :)
My friends Joe, AmyJo, and Esther Pleune are in China, picking up their new Pleune! Maximus! Doesn't that sound like a really solid name? And let me tell you, he looks like a Maximus. That boy's going to be a bruiser! Seeing pictures of Him with his new Mommy, Daddy, and big sister make me want to cry. I know... girly. But I can't help it. I'm so happy for them!
Oh, by the way... Susie says hi... and she can't wait to meet Max.
I'm not in China, and I'm a bit jealous that they are, but we're getting all kinds of fun fluffy snow right now, as most of my readers are probably aware of. Anyway, I really like the snow this year. I never did before, but I'm really appreciating it's beauty this year. I love to sit in my apartment, and look out the front window when the snow is falling gently down through the trees. It's really pretty. I also really like to take walks in it. When you're nice and bundled, it's great to enjoy the snow. If you haven't noticed already, do yourself a favor, and go outside and take note of how peaceful it is when there is this much snow. So quite. I love it.
What else? I got a new book last week called "God Guides". Great book with a bunch of short sections, so it's good to read all at once, or take in small chunks. Anyway, it talks about this missionary in India who would ask God a question, and then just sit and listen to what He would put on her heart. One time He told her to give someone an egg, and she thought it was dumb, so she blew Him off. When she got home, there was a chicken on her kitchen table, and it laid an egg and walked out of her house. She delivered the egg to the woman whom God had said to give it, and she was thanked with tears. The woman had given the last of her food to her children, and had asked God, "please, just give me an egg." WOW!! Anyway, I don't think you can get the book in stores, but I'm thinking about getting a bunch, so let me know if you want one. You won't regret it.
I think that's all for now... except that as I write this, I have this overwhelming sense of God's goodness. I have to say it.... GOD IS SO GOOD, AND I LOVE HIM!!!! That's rather significant, because even after I had become a Christian, I still didn't know how I would love Him. For years, I was saved, but not living a full life in Christ, and I felt just as lost as I did when I wasn't saved. He has granted me that love, and I am so thankful for it. I'm almost moved to tears just thinking about it. What a mighty God we serve. I can't wait to fall down before him and stay there for all of eternity, enjoying His presence free from the temptation and condemnation of Satan. What an incredible day that will be! And, as the song says (this is my favorite verse of any song), "When we've been there 10,000 years. Bright shining as the sun. We've no less days to sing God's praise, than when we'd first begun!" What an incredible truth!
That's eternity... but in the mean time, I'll be praying for a Bears win this weekend. :) I think this is the year, but everyone on the planet seems to disagree. That will surely make it that much more satisfying when Uber-lacher and crew put a hurtin' on the ponies. :-0
Anyway, Joe, I hope this post is to your liking. :) I'm so glad to see you guys with Max, and I can't wait to meet him. I think he and Ella will be good friends. :) Maybe he'll be able to understand what she's saying. :) haha.
I love you guys!
